OSTARA FARM: Breeders of premium, purebred Scottish Blackface Sheep

The Ostara Farm flock of purebred, registered Blackface sheep includes top bloodlines extending across western Canada, the U.S. Midwest and Scotland. Ostara Farm imported rams from Wisconsin in the fall of 2011 bearing pedigrees reaching back to Scotland. That same year Ostara Farm imported Blackface semen from Mossfennan, Scotland that was used for a very successful 2012 AI program.

A second AI program was completed in 2014 with semen from CROSSFLATT by £65,000 Auldhouseburn (ARR/ARR) imported from Auldhouseburn Farm at Muirkirk in Ayrshire, Scotland - the first premium Lanark type bloodlines brought to North America.

Lambs will be available for purchase in the fall of 2018.  Ram lambs will be offered at $500 and ewes for $400 each. Ostara Farm does not sell bred ewes. In addition, federal restrictions prohibit the export of stock to destinations outside of Canada. Please note that animals shown on this page have been sold or are now part of the breeding program at Ostara Farm.

All stock will be registered with the Canadian Livestock Records Corporation following sale.
